Artist Statement

Mariza Ntzala was born in Agrinio in 1983. She is a self-taught visual artist with a focus on the realistic and symbolic depiction of the human face. Her work centers on inner experience, emotion, and the relationship between form and psychological state, often through poetic and suggestive imagery.

She works primarily with pencil, charcoal, oil, and acrylics, placing particular emphasis on light, shadow, and texture, so that the figure becomes a vessel for inner narratives. Through her work, she seeks a quiet communication with the viewer, leaving space for personal interpretation.
